Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor (2013)

I actually rather enjoyed watching the sort of predictable film.  For some reason, I was expecting Tyler Perry to make an appearance in it, which of course never happened.

Spoilers…

The very beautiful Jurnee Smollett-Bell played the part of Judith, a married woman who was eventually enticed to cheat and leave her husband for the handsome Robie Jones, who played the part of Harley.  This is the beginning of a downhill slide that pretty much ruins her life.  I had some difficulties believing Judith’s part, I mean they made her out to be pretty stupid.  I don’t know maybe Harley was just that studly and abusive and so magnetic that she just had to try to be with him.  I also had problems with her husband’s part, although I thought he did a very good job of acting.  Flashing forward to the future, showing her old and single having become a marriage counselor, with HIV. The point of this future scene I believe is to demonstrate that the decisions you make in your youth can come back to haunt you.  That’s what Judith was trying to convey to the young woman sitting down with who was contemplation leaving her marriage.  I was entertained by this film.
