Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)

This film was a complete departure from the original two films in the series.  It was not directed/written by John Carpenter and it suffered for it, big time.   For one, Michael Myers was not even in this film, not to mention Jamie Lee Curtis.  This wasn’t even really much of a horror film/slasher.  Instead, it told a different type of story, one I liken to the types of stories told in some James Bond flicks.  In a nutshell, it was about a man who was hatching a devious plan to kill a bunch of kids on Halloween by planting a dangerous device in the masks kidswear.  The device could only be activated by watching a television commercial.   The main villain may as well have been holding a purring white cat while calling all of the shots.  It held my attention enough to finish it but I could not recommend it to anyone.
