This was my second time watching this film, but I neglected to write a quick review the first time. Although this film has serious Muslim issues as an undertone, it is at its heart a very funny comedy. It covered the very serious issue of radical religious extremism while at the same time, the bumbling “lions” portrayed in this film were quite hilarious.
The standout actor in this film was Riz Ahmed, who played Omar. He was the lion with the most sense and was sort of the leader of the pack. Even though he had the most sense of the bunch, he was still not very much together himself.
The film ended on a bit of a downer, with the footage in the credits offering up some comedic relief. Highly recommended.
