I watched this movie simply because Michael Fassbender was in it. However, he was not the lead nor the star of this one. It was Katie Jarvis, who plays Mia. She was a rather angry and rude 15-year-old girl, living in the slums with her drugged-out mother. It was sort of a coming of age film although you cannot really come of age at 15.
Spoilers..
Michael Fassbender plays the love interest of Mia’s mother, and eventually Mia herself. That part is rather controversial. After their encounter, Fassbender breaks up with Mia’s mother and moves out of the house. Mia spy’s on Fassbender and finds out he has a wife and child. Right after finding this out, she kidnaps his daughter, the whole time you are wondering is she going to hurt her or what was the purpose. I think the purpose was just to show that there was no good reason and that’s just how things happen in real life. This was one of those films that you find out you are just along for the ride because it is just a window of time into a troubled teenager’s life. As the credits roll, nothing is concluded, except that Mia is moving out of her house to be with a new boyfriend. I was engaged in the ride and do recommend it.
