I decided to watch this film because it was close to Halloween and it was listed as a horror film. This was a very strange film. I understand it is considered by many to be a very good film. Although I thought the acting was good I am NOT in that camp. I thought this film is interesting but it wasn’t great. It was weird. I understand what the director was trying to do, I just don’t think he pulled it off. I know this is a fairly early film in terms of history, so I have to forgive some of its faults, but not enough to recommend it.
Short synopsis…
Man marries a strange woman that scares cats. Marriage is not consummated. Man divorces woman. The woman turns into a panther and kills her therapist. Am I missing something? A true American tragedy.
