My fascination with musicals continue, so I had to watch this film starring Zac Effron and Vanessa Hudgens. It has been seven years out since its release, the main actors are much younger looking and arguably ‘cuter’ since they are kids in this film. I don’t have a whole lot to say about it other than to me it is not really so much a musical as much as it is a movie with a little bit of singing mixed in. I would highly recommend this film especially for high school age kids or younger.
A quick note on the quality of the singing. This film was no ‘Les Miserables’. The singing quality of the main actors was just okay. I think this was a breakout role for Zac and Vanessa, but singing is not their wheelhouse.
I did enjoy the film and would call it, ‘cute’.
