Yesterday I rented this film off of Xbox video service. It starred Gerrard Butler as a secret service agent, Aaron Eckhart as the President of the United States, and Morgan Freeman as the Speaker of the House, who assumes the responsibility of the President of the United States during a terrorist attack. I found the film to be quite enjoyable, with some serious suspension of disbelief required for several portions of it. The first one I can recall was when the Presidents wife was killed in a car accident when they were doing 5 mph. The second was when the terrorists took over inside the bunker of the White House. I am pretty sure the secret service would have screened everyone entering the white house and would have removed any weapons. But, it did make for some entertaining, Rambo-esk type movie situations. I also have to believe they would have been able to shoot down the terrorist aircraft a whole lot easier than was shown in the film. Fast forward, the president is tied up, in the bunker, everyone is dead save Gerard, who is single-handedly saving the presidents son and rescuing everyone from the terrorists. I found the film to be quite enjoyable and would recommend it despite these shortcomings.
