I watched this film this morning solely because it was on my streaming queue and because it stars one of my favorite actors Ryan Gosling. This was a very cinematic, artsy film, probably intended for an audience that pays close attention to those sorts of things. It was a very dark film shot with a lot of reds in the scenes and a lot of creepy background music. It was also a very violent revenge flick. Gosling’s brother was murdered for killing a young woman, which leads to all kinds of violence and turmoil eventually leading to the credits rolling. It was a bit mesmerizing and it did find it engaging to a point, but overall I thought it was terrible.
