Young Adult

This film starts out with Charlize Theron (whos looking beautiful as always) seemingly feeling homesick but really she was looking to get back her old flame played by Patrick Wilson. The film gets its name from the fact that she is the author of books written for young adults.  She goes back to her old hometown to seek out her ex, played by Patrick Wilson and tries to win him back even though he is married and has an infant child.  In the meantime, she has befriended an old less attractive, and partially disabled high school friend played by Patton Oswalt.  Her character is a bit of a crazy, depressed alcoholic who carries a dog in her bag.  Their friendship is a little unbelievable due to the stark contrast between the two but at that point, she just needed human interaction.  The film was entertaining, went nowhere and I would not recommend it to anyone.
